About the Class
Our "Pizza Party Science" transforms young chefs into dough scientists for a day of delicious discovery and culinary creation! This hands-on camp reveals the fascinating chemistry behind perfect pizza dough, with campers conducting yeast experiments to understand fermentation and gluten development. Throughout the morning, participants will prepare their own pizza dough from scratch, learning techniques for mixing, kneading, and proving while scientifically observing the transformation process. The afternoon transforms into a pizza design studio where young chefs express their creativity with toppings while learning about flavor combinations, nutrition, and artistic food presentation. This camp balances scientific learning with practical culinary skills, allowing children to understand the "why" behind cooking techniques while creating a delicious meal they'll be proud to have made themselves! Daily Structure: • Morning: Welcome circle with introduction to bread science and kitchen safety followed by dough science laboratory and pizza dough preparation • Mid-day: Lunch and active games at Littlejohn Park • Afternoon: Topping design workshop and pizza assembly followed by cooking, tasting celebration, and recipe writing Take Home: Personal pizza creation, printed recipe cards, and dough science guide CAMP DETAILS & LOGISTICS • Ages: TK-5th grade (most campers are K-3rd grade) • Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Extended care available 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM) • What to Bring: Labeled water bottle, one hearty snack, and a nut-free lunch • Attire: Comfortable clothing, trampoline socks recommended (no-shoes facility) • Note: Please leave toys and personal items at home or in lobby cubbies • Sibling Discount: 10% off for second child with code "Siblings10" Cancellation Policy: • Transfer Option: Transfer to another student for $25 fee • 45+ Days Before Camp: Refund minus $50 cancellation fee and 3% processing fee • Less Than 45 Days Before Camp: No refunds issued Why Choose The Village Kids' Club for Camp: At The Village Kids' Club, we transform ordinary days off school into extraordinary adventures with small group sizes, experienced instructors, and substantive, hands-on activities that build genuine skills while sparking joy and wonder.

Cancellation Policy
VKC Fair + Flexible Cancellation Policy We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our campers and our organization. Winter & Spring 2025–2026 Policy Transfer Option: You may transfer your camp spot to another student at any time for a $25 transfer fee. 45 Days or More Before Camp Start Date: Refunds are available, less a $50 cancellation fee and a 3% payment-processing fee. Less Than 45 Days Before Camp Start Date: No refunds will be issued. You may still transfer your camp spot to another student. Summer 2026 Policy Before February 1, 2026 100% refundable, minus a 3% payment-processing fee. No cancellation fee — book early, risk-free! February 1 – April 30, 2026 Refunds are available, less a $50 cancellation fee and 3% processing. Transfers to another week or camper are allowed at no charge, if space permits. After May 1, 2026 No refunds will be issued. You may transfer your registration to another student or camp week for a $25 transfer fee, space permitting. Differences in Tuition If you transfer into a higher-priced camp, the tuition difference will be charged at the time of transfer. If you move into a lower-priced camp, the difference will be refunded (less applicable processing fees) or credited toward a future VKC program. Member Benefit Members may transfer or switch camps free of charge up to 10 days before the camp start date.
