About the Class

Session 1: June 23-27 Every street has a story - discover the secrets of our island city! Become an urban explorer on daily missions through Alameda! We'll hunt for historic treasures, spot secret passages, visit the arcade museum, grab ice cream at Tucker's, and learn the hidden stories of our island city. Embark on daily walking adventures to explore Alameda's fascinating history, architecture, and natural wonders. Young explorers document their discoveries through photography, sketching, and nature journaling while developing navigation skills and environmental awareness. Take-Home: Explorer journal, field guide, and photo collection. Learning: Students develop map reading and navigation skills while studying local history and architecture. Focus on urban geography, environmental awareness, and community knowledge. Perfect for active kids who love exploration and outdoor adventure! Daily Overview: Day 1: Historic Lower Park Street (Lunch included) • Morning: Begin with an introduction to orienteering and a team-building scavenger hunt on the way to Park Street. Day 2: Alameda's Victorian Homes & Gold Coast • Morning: Walk through neighborhoods with Victorian homes, sketching and photographing the unique architecture. Day 3: Beach Day • Morning: Scavenger hunt and learning about local marine life and ecosystems. Day 4: Upper Park Street Day 5: Jean Sweeney Park and Historic Webster Street (Lunch included) Details & Logistics: • Ages: 4 (entering K) to 11 • Drop Off: 8:45–9:00am | Pick Up: 4:00pm | Extended Hours: 8:30am–5:30pm. • Food: Bring a labeled water bottle, two hearty snacks, and a nut-free lunch. • Attire: Comfortable, movement-friendly clothing. Note: We’re a "no-shoes" facility, we recommend trampoline socks. • Belongings: Leave toys and personal items at home or in the lobby cubbies. Contact us for a discount code. Camp Cancellation Policy: We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our campers and our organization. Transfer Option: Contact us to transfer your camp spot to another student at any time for a $25 transfer fee. 45 Days or More Before Camp Start Date: We provide a refund, less a $50 cancellation fee and a 3% payment processing fee.
