About the Class

Beat the Summer Slump: Foundations in Math Readiness Series Our "Beat the Summer Slump" class series is designed to help kids retain and deepen their understanding of math concepts, ensuring they return to school confident and ready to excel. These four weekly one-hour classes focus on reviewing grade-level (and beyond) math in engaging and exciting ways. By revisiting key concepts and practicing problem-solving skills, students will reinforce their knowledge and build a strong mathematical foundation. 1st-3rd Grade: Foundations in Math Course Outline: Week 1: Number Sense and Counting Counting forwards and backwards Understanding integers and place value Comparing and ordering numbers Week 2: Addition and Subtraction Basic addition and subtraction facts Strategies for solving problems Word problems Week 3: Patterns and Sequences Recognizing and creating patterns Understanding sequences Using patterns to solve problems Week 4: Measurement and Geometry Understanding length, weight, and volume Identifying shapes and their attributes Basic symmetry and spatial relationships World-Class Instructor: Sogolon Best, our director and senior teacher, brings over 27 years of teaching experience to our "Beat the Summer Slump: Math Mastery Series." With a background in teaching elementary and middle school math at progressive private schools, Sogolon is known for his ability to make math engaging and accessible for students of all levels. His passion for fostering a love of math and problem-solving in young learners ensures that each class is both educational and inspiring. Under Sogolon's expert guidance, students will build a strong mathematical foundation and gain the confidence needed to excel in their academic journey. This series is included in the Club Membership - please contact us to enroll in the series. Reserve your space with a $25 deposit. When we reach the required enrollment numbers, we will notify you and send an invoice for the remainder. Should we not reach the enrollment requirements, we will refund the deposit.

For classes and evening events: To cancel or reschedule, please contact us 72 hours in advance. Please note any refund will be less the payment processor fee of 3%. For Camps and Special Events: Camps are non-refundable.
