About the Class
THE VILLAGE (1102 Lincoln) | Tuesday, December 29, 2026 Today is real chemistry — sweet edition. Sugar Scientists begin the morning with rock candy: dissolving sugar into supersaturated solution, planting a string in the jar, and labeling a take-home seed for crystals to grow at home over the next week. Mid-morning is the Gummy Bear Lab — gummy bears placed in saltwater, plain water, and sugar water, then measured every fifteen minutes. Park lunch at Littlejohn. Afternoon is the Chocolate Pour: real tempered chocolate, real silicone molds (stars, hearts, animals), real waiting-and-tapping ceremony. Finale: The Chocolate Reveal — chocolates pop out of the molds and every Scientist gets a small box of theirs to take home. Every camper takes home a rock candy seed jar (will grow over a week at home), a labeled gummy-bear lab data sheet, a box of tempered chocolates, and a Sugar Scientist badge. Cancellation Policy
VKC Fair + Flexible Cancellation Policy We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our campers and our organization. Winter & Spring 2025–2026 Policy Transfer Option: You may transfer your camp spot to another student at any time for a $25 transfer fee. 45 Days or More Before Camp Start Date: Refunds are available, less a $50 cancellation fee and a 3% payment-processing fee. Less Than 45 Days Before Camp Start Date: No refunds will be issued. You may still transfer your camp spot to another student. Summer 2026 Policy Before February 1, 2026 100% refundable, minus a 3% payment-processing fee. No cancellation fee — book early, risk-free! February 1 – April 30, 2026 Refunds are available, less a $50 cancellation fee and 3% processing. Transfers to another week or camper are allowed at no charge, if space permits. After May 1, 2026 No refunds will be issued. You may transfer your registration to another student or camp week for a $25 transfer fee, space permitting. Differences in Tuition If you transfer into a higher-priced camp, the tuition difference will be charged at the time of transfer. If you move into a lower-priced camp, the difference will be refunded (less applicable processing fees) or credited toward a future VKC program. Member Benefit Members may transfer or switch camps free of charge up to 10 days before the camp start date.
