About the Class
"Art in the Park: Fall Creation Studio" invites young artists to experience the magic that happens when nature and creativity collide! This exceptional four-day camp transforms Alameda's beautiful parks into open-air art studios where children will develop genuine artistic skills under professional guidance. As autumn colors the landscape, campers will capture the season's splendor through multiple art mediums while learning substantive techniques rarely offered in conventional children's programs. From mastering perspective drawing to creating stunning sun prints and crafting dimensional sculptures, young artists will build a diverse portfolio while developing a deeper connection to the natural world around them. Daily Structure: • Morning: Welcome circle and introduction to the day's art concepts followed by park exploration with guided artistic activities and nature observation • Mid-day: Picnic lunch and outdoor games at Littlejohn or Jean Sweeney Park • Afternoon: Professional art instruction session with in-depth technique development, followed by creative application time and daily art showcase Daily Highlights: • Day 1: Capturing Nature - Drawing & Painting Fundamentals with observational techniques, perspective, and watercolor methods • Day 2: Sun Printing & Natural Impressions using cyanotype process on paper and fabric with botanical specimens • Day 3: 3D Nature Art with plaster casting techniques, texture impressions, and relief sculpture creation • Day 4: Mixed Media & Collaborative Art combining previous techniques into personal projects and group nature-inspired mural Take Home: Personal art portfolio including professional-quality nature sketchbook, framed sun prints, plaster cast sculptures, and mixed-media artwork CAMP DETAILS & LOGISTICS • Ages: TK-5th grade (most campers are K-3rd grade) • Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Extended care available 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM) • What to Bring: Labeled water bottle, one hearty snack, and a nut-free lunch • Attire: Comfortable clothing, trampoline socks recommended (no-shoes facility) • Note: Please leave toys and personal items at home or in lobby cubbies • Sibling Discount: 10% off for second child with code "Siblings10" Cancellation Policy: • Transfer Option: Transfer to another student for $25 fee • 45+ Days Before Camp: Refund minus $50 cancellation fee and 3% processing fee • Less Than 45 Days Before Camp: No refunds issued

We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our campers and our organization. Transfer Option: Contact us to transfer your camp spot to another student at any time for a $25 transfer fee. 45 Days or More Before Camp Start Date: We provide a refund, less a $50 cancellation fee and a 3% payment processing fee. Less Than 45 Days Before Camp Start Date: No refunds will be issued.
