About the Class
THE VILLAGE (1102 Lincoln) • Monday, October 12, 2026 Calling all tiny trackers. Today the Forest Detective Agency is on the case, and the case gets gloriously real. We dissect REAL owl pellets to discover what owls actually eat, find tiny bones inside, and match them to an identification chart. We make sun-print leaf art on photosensitive paper using leaves we collect ourselves, decode the secret math hiding in pinecones, and pack our field kits for Littlejohn Park. The grand finale is the Volcano Treasure Hunt: clues hidden in the trees lead the cohort to a buried treasure marked by a real erupting volcano. Every Forest Detective takes home an owl-pellet skeleton in a labeled bag, sun-print leaf art, treasure from the hunt, and a Forest Detective badge. Real science hides inside the foam: observation, classification, pattern-finding, and patient scientific noticing. Cancellation Policy
VKC Fair + Flexible Cancellation Policy We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our campers and our organization. Winter & Spring 2025–2026 Policy Transfer Option: You may transfer your camp spot to another student at any time for a $25 transfer fee. 45 Days or More Before Camp Start Date: Refunds are available, less a $50 cancellation fee and a 3% payment-processing fee. Less Than 45 Days Before Camp Start Date: No refunds will be issued. You may still transfer your camp spot to another student. Summer 2026 Policy Before February 1, 2026 100% refundable, minus a 3% payment-processing fee. No cancellation fee — book early, risk-free! February 1 – April 30, 2026 Refunds are available, less a $50 cancellation fee and 3% processing. Transfers to another week or camper are allowed at no charge, if space permits. After May 1, 2026 No refunds will be issued. You may transfer your registration to another student or camp week for a $25 transfer fee, space permitting. Differences in Tuition If you transfer into a higher-priced camp, the tuition difference will be charged at the time of transfer. If you move into a lower-priced camp, the difference will be refunded (less applicable processing fees) or credited toward a future VKC program. Member Benefit Members may transfer or switch camps free of charge up to 10 days before the camp start date.
