About the Class

Friday math looks nothing like a worksheet. Kids crack logic challenges, play pattern and number games, build with tangrams, and team up on puzzles that have a real "got it!" payoff. By making math a game they solve together, kids discover it's something you do — a way of thinking, not a page to finish — and they build the kind of stick-with-it problem-solving that carries into the classroom. They go home with a puzzle or number trick they'll challenge you to figure out. Skills Development: Addition and Subtraction Mastery: Students will strengthen their understanding and application of basic addition and subtraction. Multiplication Introduction: Exposure to multiplication concepts, making the transition to more complex operations smooth and enjoyable. Numerical Fluency: Enhancing speed and accuracy in basic arithmetic through fun and interactive exercises. Problem-Solving: Encouraging logical thinking and problem-solving skills through real-world math applications and challenges. Teaching Approach: Our experienced instructor and math wizard will guide students using content from Beast Academy, Arnold Problem Solving, and the Berkeley Math Circle. The focus is on making math fun and accessible, fostering a positive attitude towards mathematics from an early age. Enrollment Note: While the grades are a rough guide, our math program is based on the level of ability rather than grade. We welcome all kids who have a passion for learning and problem-solving--in any subject--and we will find the right class to match their skills and enthusiasm.
