Staff Text Message Program — Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

What this program is. Village Kids' Club operates a text-message line for our employees, staffed by Miguel, our internal staff assistant. It is used to send work reminders and check-ins, and to answer work questions employees text in. This program is for Village Kids' Club employees only. It is not a customer or marketing program, and we do not send promotional messages on it.

What we send. Employees who have opted in may receive: a morning summary of tasks assigned to them that day; a single reminder to clock in if a scheduled shift has started with no time-clock punch recorded; a question at the end of a shift asking what time they actually left, when the time clock auto-logged them out; a brief acknowledgment when they confirm a task is complete; occasional recognition of work completed; and replies to questions they send us.

How to opt in. Employees opt in by signing our SMS consent form, on paper or with a digital signature, and providing the mobile number they want us to use. Employees who have opted out can rejoin by texting START to our staff number. Consent is not a condition of employment — everything on this program is also available by email, and employees who decline receive it that way.

Message frequency. Frequency varies with your shifts and assigned tasks. Most weeks that means between zero and five messages. We cap proactive messages at three per person per day and do not send between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM, except for an end-of-shift clock-out question on a shift that ended late. Messages you send us are answered whenever you send them.

Cost. Village Kids' Club does not charge for these messages. Message and data rates may apply through your own mobile carrier, according to your plan.

How to opt out. Reply STOP to any message. You may also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. You will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and no further texts. Task reminders will go to your work email instead. You can also ask a manager to remove your number.

How to get help. Reply HELP to any message, email info@thevillagekidsclub.org, or ask your manager.

Carriers and delivery. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your device, and we cannot guarantee that every message arrives.

Privacy. Mobile numbers collected for this program, and your consent to receive texts, are never shared with or sold to third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Notice for details: https://www.thevillagekidsclub.org/our-privacy-notice

What we don't send by text. We do not send children's names, family account details, payment information, or other sensitive information by text message, because text messages are not encrypted in transit. If your question requires that kind of detail, Miguel will tell you he is sending the answer to your email instead.

Records. Messages sent and received on this line are logged internally for accuracy, payroll records, and quality review.

Changes. We may update these terms. The current version always lives at this page, with the date it was last updated.
