About the Class

Session 1: 15-19 June, 2026 Step inside the VKC Time Machine and join the ChronoQuest Crew — a team of young inventors traveling through the ages to explore the coolest engineering breakthroughs in history (and the future)! Each day, campers “time jump” into a new era of innovation — from the Stone Age’s first simple machines to the Industrial Revolution’s powerful inventions, and finally into the Future Lab, where they imagine and build what comes next. Through hands-on building, problem-solving, and creative design, kids learn how human ingenuity shaped our world — and how their own ideas can shape the future. By Friday, campers bring all their invention modules together to power up the VKC Time Machine in an exciting family finale! It’s part science lab, part imagination playground — and 100% VKC magic. Details & Logistics: We have a very low camper to staff ratio. Our camps feature plenty of outdoor time, lunch, play and field games at Littlejohn Park. Our camps are for ages: 4 (entering K) to 11 Drop Off: 8:45–9:00am | Pick Up: 4:00pm Extended Care Hours: 8:30am–5:30pm Food: Bring a labeled water bottle, two hearty snacks, and a nut-free lunch. Please use code “Siblings10” for a 10% discount on the 2nd child. ________________________________________ Daily Adventures Monday – The Stone Age: The First Engineers Discover how early humans used tools and force. Build working levers and lift “boulders” with simple machines. Focus: Force, balance, and mechanical advantage. Tuesday – Ancient Egypt: Builders of Wonders Engineer ramps and sleds to move giant blocks like the pyramid builders. Focus: Friction, slope, and teamwork. Wednesday – The Renaissance: Inventions of Imagination Take inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci! Design gliders, flying machines, or pulley systems. Focus: Flight, design thinking, and creativity. Thursday – The Industrial Revolution: Power and Motion Explore how energy and electricity changed the world. Build mini circuits, gears, and light-up machines. Focus: Energy transfer and motion. Friday – The Future: Build What’s Next! Design inventions for the world of tomorrow — then combine them to activate the VKC Time Machine in a live finale!
