About the Class

At the Brain Beats Math Circle, math comes alive through rhythm, rhyme, and movement! This high-energy class combines catchy original music, hands-on math practice, and the RapMatics approach — a breakthrough teaching method that uses hip hop and beat-based learning to make math memorable, meaningful, and fun. Led by our highly experienced teacher, each session blends sound, movement, and math thinking. Students don’t just memorize — they internalize math patterns through rhythm and flow. Every beat builds understanding and confidence. The RapMatics Approach RapMatics is our signature method of teaching math through music, performance, and creativity. Each Brain Beats song is designed around a key math concept, aligned with 2nd–4th grade standards. Students: Listen to professional hip hop tracks that model the math concept in rhythm and rhyme Move to the beat through claps, stomps, and small-group activities that connect math to motion Create their own mini-raps, chants, and patterns that demonstrate understanding Reflect on how rhythm and repetition reinforce mathematical structure At home, families can listen to the same songs to reinforce what was learned — turning car rides, breakfast time, or clean-up time into fun math review sessions. What We’ll Learn – The First 8 Sessions Each week is built around one of our Brain Beats Collective tracks — produced exclusively for this program. “Multiply the Beat” - Multiplication as repeated addition “Division Mission” - Division as fair sharing and grouping “Word Problem Hustle” -Reading, planning, and solving story problems “Times Table Flow” -Multiplication fluency & patterns “Fraction Action” -Fractions as equal parts and on the number line “Compare the Fractions” -Comparing fractions with same numerator/denominator “Perimeter Crew” -Measuring perimeter of shapes “Area Hustle” -Finding area with unit squares & multiplication Each session includes: Song + Movement (music immersion) Hands-On Math Activity (visual & tactile learning) Call-and-Response Practice (verbal fluency) Reflection + Creative Expression (writing or performing short “math bars”) Designed for students in grades 2–4, this class is perfect for: Kids who learn best through music, rhythm, or movement Students ready to deepen their number sense and math fluency Families who want learning that feels joyful, confident, and culturally engaging Younger or older students are welcome based on readiness
