About the Class
Calling all junior pastry chefs! Our "Sweet Treats Cooking Academy" offers a delicious day of culinary education where children discover the fascinating science and artistry behind favorite desserts. Young bakers will start their day with the intriguing process of growing rock candy crystals, learning about supersaturated solutions while creating a treat that's both scientifically interesting and delicious. The morning continues with a professional cupcake baking workshop where students learn proper measuring techniques, ingredient functions, and baking chemistry. Afternoon sessions feature an exciting chocolate tempering demonstration where children discover how temperature control transforms ordinary chocolate into shiny, snapping confections with professional appeal. Throughout the day, campers will develop genuine culinary skills, food science knowledge, and artistic decoration techniques that they can continue to use at home! Daily Structure: • Morning: Welcome circle with culinary vocabulary and kitchen safety followed by rock candy science workshop and cupcake baking laboratory • Mid-day: Lunch and food-themed games at Littlejohn Park • Afternoon: Chocolate tempering demonstration and hands-on practice followed by dessert decoration techniques workshop and sweet treats showcase Take Home: Decorated treats in bakery boxes, rock candy starter kit, and recipe cards CAMP DETAILS & LOGISTICS • Ages: TK-5th grade (most campers are K-3rd grade) • Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Extended care available 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM) • What to Bring: Labeled water bottle, one hearty snack, and a nut-free lunch • Attire: Comfortable clothing, trampoline socks recommended (no-shoes facility) • Note: Please leave toys and personal items at home or in lobby cubbies • Sibling Discount: 10% off for second child with code "Siblings10" Cancellation Policy: • Transfer Option: Transfer to another student for $25 fee • 45+ Days Before Camp: Refund minus $50 cancellation fee and 3% processing fee • Less Than 45 Days Before Camp: No refunds issued Why Choose The Village Kids' Club for Camp: At The Village Kids' Club, we transform ordinary days off school into extraordinary adventures with small group sizes, experienced instructors, and substantive, hands-on activities that build genuine skills while sparking joy and wonder.

Cancellation Policy
VKC Fair + Flexible Cancellation Policy We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our campers and our organization. Winter & Spring 2025–2026 Policy Transfer Option: You may transfer your camp spot to another student at any time for a $25 transfer fee. 45 Days or More Before Camp Start Date: Refunds are available, less a $50 cancellation fee and a 3% payment-processing fee. Less Than 45 Days Before Camp Start Date: No refunds will be issued. You may still transfer your camp spot to another student. Summer 2026 Policy Before February 1, 2026 100% refundable, minus a 3% payment-processing fee. No cancellation fee — book early, risk-free! February 1 – April 30, 2026 Refunds are available, less a $50 cancellation fee and 3% processing. Transfers to another week or camper are allowed at no charge, if space permits. After May 1, 2026 No refunds will be issued. You may transfer your registration to another student or camp week for a $25 transfer fee, space permitting. Differences in Tuition If you transfer into a higher-priced camp, the tuition difference will be charged at the time of transfer. If you move into a lower-priced camp, the difference will be refunded (less applicable processing fees) or credited toward a future VKC program. Member Benefit Members may transfer or switch camps free of charge up to 10 days before the camp start date.
