About the Class

At The Village Kids’ Club, we’re excited to introduce our new Foam Clay Critter Sculpting program — a 10-class series where kids learn the joy of sculpting by creating their very own cute animal friends from colorful air-dry foam clay. Each week, children are guided step-by-step through a new animal project — from turtles and hedgehogs to unicorns and baby dragons. Every class is designed to be standalone, so kids can jump in any week, but together the series builds confidence and skills in: 🖐 Dexterity & Fine Motor Skills – rolling, shaping, and assembling clay pieces strengthens small muscles in the hands and improves coordination. 🎨 Creativity & Imagination – kids design their own unique versions of animals, adding color, texture, and personal flair. 🧩 Understanding Proportion & Form – through building animal bodies and details, kids naturally learn balance, size relationships, and design thinking. 💡 Problem-Solving & Resilience – clay is forgiving! Kids learn how to fix mistakes, re-shape, and keep going when something doesn’t work out the first time. 🌟 Confidence & Joy in Making – each class ends with a finished, take-home creature to be proud of. ✨ What Parents Love Safe, non-toxic foam air-dry clay (no kiln or oven needed). Engaging 50-minute classes that balance fun and focus. A mix of real animals (turtle, penguin, owl) and mythical creatures (unicorn, dragon, fantasy pet) to keep kids inspired. Kids collect their own “mini clay zoo” week by week. By the end of the program, your child will have a collection of 10 unique clay animals and a stronger sense of creativity, patience, and artistic confidence.
